In the beginning, when Paige first arrived to Falcon Beach, she initiallly labelled Jason as some dumb jock without actually getting to know him. Perhaps this was due to the fact that she was upset about leaving her home in Toronto.
Paige has always been accustomed to the fast-paced life of the city that she quickly wrote off Falcon Beach as a hick town and couldn't share the same love for it as her mother.
Similarly, Jason was quick to judge Paige and saw her only as some snobby rich girl. As they kept running into each other, they soon became friendlier when Jason began teaching Paige how to wakeboard.
On that one occasion, Paige and Jason ended up stranded when the motor of Jason's boat broke down, leaving them to discover that there was something more to the other than meets the eye.
Things begin to heat up for them and they find themselves quite taken by each other.
Unfortunately, things don't work out smoothly between the two. At the same time that Paige arrived to Falcon Beach, Tanya, Jason's childhood friend returns after a whirlwind modelling career.
Despite being upset with her for leaving him when he needed her, he finds himself still drawn to her and their past history.
When Jason learns about the life Tanya has led in Europe, he immediately runs to her side to console her, leaving Paige behind.
After the whole incident, Paige starts off being bitter about Jason choosing Tanya over her, but soon she becomes preoccupied with helping Danny and Playland as well as spending time with the new doctor in town, Adrian Keeper.
Slowly, Jason and Paige begin to become friends and they find that they still have that special bond.
When Jason was unable to buy a new boat for wakeboarding, Paige buys him a boat. At first he was upset, feeling that she saw him as a charity case but then realized that she was trying to be a good friend.
Later on, when Jason found himself in a financial bind he, he came to Paige for financial help. Despite Jason feeling a little weird about the situation, Paige felt that it was nice that he trusted her and could confide in her.
